October
Partner
of the Month
Hany
We are excited to share with you the inspiring story of Hany, our newest rising star in Tema, and the October Business Partner of the Month.
Hany is a 40-year-old husband and a father of two young boys. He worked for 20 years in a shop at the Anba Yassa Monastery in Tema. Recently the monastery changed their policy and gave their employees the option to either work as construction workers at the monastery, or to quit their jobs. Hany decided to start his own business in a field in which he had significant experience, the sales of women’s accessories, handbags, and gifts.
He applied for a 50,000 L.E. loan, and after interviewing him and evaluating his business plan, KV saw his potential as a promising entrepreneur.
His loan was approved, and as soon as Hany was notified, he rented a shop and purchased inventory. Using his strategy to buy higher quality products for cheaper prices, he was successfully able to compete in the market. By the end of August, he had already tripled the income he was receiving from his former job!

Hany’s ambition to expand his new business did not stop there. After contracting with a private school in his area to sell their uniforms, he converted part of his house to be a temporary second store from which he could sell the uniforms. To maximize the potential of this opportunity, he decided to test a new line of business. He bought casual clothing items and displayed them beside the school uniforms. If the test is successful, he will transform part of his house to a permanent clothing store.
By providing people like Hany with access to credit, your donations to KV allowed him to explore opportunities that will be the seed for additional business that can offer jobs to others in his community. This is the yeast that leavens the whole lump of dough. We pray Hany’s inspiring example will encourage others to reach out to KV to begin their journey to an empowered future.
